We are seeking a motivated SAFCO Assist Underwriter to join our
Originations Department. In this role, you will work closely with
department leadership to review and purchase auto finance
contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to analyze, review and decision application stipulations
pre-receipt of the contract.
Ability to complete verifications on application stipulations
pre-receipt of the contract.
Ability to read and understand applicants' credit bureaus.
Ability to structure applications in accordance with SAFCO policies
and procedures.
Communicate on a daily basis with SAFCO dealer partners,
Relationship Managers, and customers.
Master the funding apparatus within defi that will require real
time updates on the status of the application.
Demonstrate proficiency in functioning within a high-quality,
fast-paced work environment while efficiently managing multiple
tasks at once.
Address inquiries and concerns from dealer partners pertaining to
stipulations or verifications.
Reassess and revisit loan applications in collaboration with our
dealer partners.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAFCO credit and funding
policies, as well as procedures.
Ability to work scheduled hours including shifts that will
incorporate Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Available to adhere to scheduled hours, including shifts that may
encompass weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS
Written Communication - Ability to write correspondence or response
letters to dealers and customers.
Verbal Communication - Ability to speak to individuals, probe for
information, and respond to questions.
Budgetary Development - Position does not have budgetary
responsibility.
Project Management - Position works as part of a team that receives
direction from the SAFCO Assist Manager.
Computer Skills - defi System, MS Office, credit reporting,
SalesForce, and loan decision software; ability to utilize software
or technical applications and systems at an intermediate level, as
needed.
Language Skills - Bilingual ability preferred.

Job Knowledge - The position requires proficiency in the key
functions, along with two years customer service experience (one
year of experience in banking/finance preferred).
Problem Solving Skills - Ability to understand and carry out
instructions furnished in written or oral form and to deal with
problems involving some variables in standardized situations.

requires interaction with customers and co-workers.
Mental Effort - Requires analysis and oversight of finance

Position Summary:
The SAFCO Assist Underwriter reviews and verifies loan documents
provided by the dealership pre-receipt of the actual contract. The
goal is to expedite the funding process and provide a better, more
efficient funding experience for our dealer partners. Strong
communication, problem solving skills, and great customer service
are required.
The SAFCO Assist Underwriter must have basic credit knowledge and
understanding of how to decision a loan application, while also
going over structure and answering any questions the dealer may
have pertaining to a loan application.
